New Year Presents New Opportunities

What are your resolutions for the New Year? Are you wondering how will you achieve some of them? Or any of them?
Ask yourself instead, what’s stopping you? How dare anyone stand in your way? It’s all about motivation: the desire to get it. The obsession with getting it. How bad do you really want it?
Maybe you want to start a new business in 2016, or open a new branch – or you’re still working your way up, and wanting to snag that upcoming promotion. Maybe you’re going for that championship, you want your team to get that trophy – and you want to be the one to throw the winning pass.
Anyone can make a resolution on the 31st of December, but it takes real determination to make it happen. It doesn’t matter what it is; if it’s important to you, it deserves the very best shot you can give it.
You know how your favorite athlete got to be your favorite? He gives it his best shot every time. How about that famous entrepreneur you admire? She’s obsessed with her success. There’s fear in there too, but it’s a healthy fear: stay in one place for too long, you grow roots right where you are and never move ahead.
And forward movement is key. If you limit yourself to your own glass ceiling, once you reach it you will never break through. You deserve the chance to show the world what you can do, and the world deserves the chance to see your special brand of magic. Think about it: Where would you be if no one had ever inspired you? Just imagine who you might inspire.
Keep up the fight, and don’t let setbacks stop you. Successful people get back up if they fall, and they learn something from it. They get up and get things done even when they don’t feel up to it. They don’t listen to the people who say things like no, can’t, or won’t. Big dreams will scare some people. That’s ok, the bigger the better.
